Nasser Hussain said that if Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wins the IPL 2025 title, it will be difficult to handle Dinesh Karthik! Karthik is doing a great job as RCB’s batting mentor this season. He retired from IPL last season, but was appointed before the 2025 auction. His advice in the auction played a big role in strengthening the RCB team.
RCB made it to the finals after winning Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Karthik’s advice played a big part in that. In a Sky Sports podcast, Nasser Hussain, who works with Karthik in the commentary box, laughingly said that if RCB win the title, Karthik will be unstoppable! Michael Atherton also quipped that Karthik will probably be standing at the forefront of the trophy ceremony like John Terry after the 2012 Champions League final, holding the trophy with Virat Kohli!
Hussain quipped, “RCB are in the final. If they win this, there will be no stopping DK. First season as coach/mentor, and he’s won the title!” Atherton laughingly added, “That’s a bit difficult anyway, now it will be doubly difficult. Like John Terry, he will be standing at the forefront of RCB’s trophy ceremony, standing with Virat holding the trophy!”
Dinesh Karthik about being a part of RCB?
Karthik said that being a part of RCB is very special for him. He told that winning the first IPL title for the franchise was his biggest motivation. “Being a part of RCB is a special feeling. Because of the kind of cricket we play, our fans, and the journey of this franchise, which has been full of ups and downs.
Karthik further said that, but the trophy has not reached Bangalore yet. If I can be a part of that journey, then why not? This was the question in my mind. I know how close we came as a player. Now there is another opportunity as a coach.
