“Yes, it’s a great time in my life and for my family. I have always loved kids. I always wanted kids. So, me and my family are very happy. We are in a great space. She is a lovely child. She has brought a lot of happiness to our lives,” Rahul told Cheteshwar Pujara on Sony Sports.
Rahul said, “I have taken up fatherly duties a little bit, but unfortunately, I had to go and play an IPL match just two days after she was born. And whatever break we got during the IPL, I tried to go back for a few days and then finish the IPL. It was really difficult to take the decision to come here and play India A matches because I had not spent much time with her and I knew that when I came here, I would not be able to see her for the next two months.”
“I have had to take some very tough decisions in the last few months. But yes, I felt it was right for me professionally and my family also supported me a lot. My wife supported me a lot. So, I came here. I haven’t seen her, just keep looking at her pictures and I’m always on the baby camera. Making sure I get to see her grow up. So, when you are travelling and playing and missing every day, it is difficult to do that,” he added.
