After recently joining Sharjah Warriors in ILT20, Karthik will reunite with his former India and Tamil Nadu teammate R Ashwin, who had earlier confirmed participation. Cricket Hong Kong China, the tournament organizers, officially announced that Karthik will captain the Indian side in this globally recognized event.

The three-day tournament is scheduled from November 7 to 9 and will feature 12 international teams including South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal, Australia, England, UAE, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and hosts Hong Kong China. Teams have been divided into four groups, with India and Pakistan expectedly placed in Group C.
The format is fast-paced and exciting, with six players per side and each match consisting of six overs. Each bowler will bowl one over, while the wicketkeeper and one bowler will bowl two overs. The top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals, with winners moving on to the Cup semifinals and losers competing in the Plate semifinals. The bottom team in each group will play in the Bowl competition. Over three days, the tournament will host a total of 29 matches. Sony Sports will broadcast all matches live for fans around the world.
