After winning the IPL 2025 trophy after 18 years, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) had a felicitation ceremony at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. During this event, a large number of fans came to see the team.
But nobody had thought that this victory celebration would turn into mourning by the evening. On June 4, 11 people lost their lives in a stampede during the celebration outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium, while more than 50 people were injured.
At the same time, a big reaction has come from the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Devjit Saikia. Saikia has said that the board will have to do something, we cannot remain silent spectators.
Devjit Saikia gave a big statement

Let us tell you that recently in the Bangalore stampede case, the BCCI Secretary quoted Cricbuzz as saying – BCCI will have to do something at some level. We cannot remain silent spectators. It was a private matter of RCB, but BCCI is responsible for cricket in India and we will try to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future.
After the Bangalore stampede, the BCCI may issue an advisory to implement a preventive system to prevent such incidents during the celebration of IPL victory in future. But the specific details including the phase of implementation of this advisory and the nature of preventive measures have not yet been detailed, but the BCCI official said that the matter will be considered.
On the other hand, an investigation is being conducted by the Bangalore Police after this stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. In this sequence, the Chief Minister of the Karnataka Government has taken major action and suspended the ACP of Central Bangalore including the Inspector and Police Station Incharge of Cubbon Park with immediate effect.
