Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently shared a sweet moment between his daughter Hinaya and star batter Virat Kohli. After Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on May 12, it surprised many fans — including young Hinaya.
Shocked by the news, Hinaya asked her father to send a message to Kohli for her. Harbhajan did so, and Kohli replied with a simple and honest message. He said it was the right time for him to retire and step away from the game.
Harbhajan Singh shared a touching moment about his daughter’s reaction to Virat Kohli’s Test retirement. He said, “I didn’t understand why Virat Kohli retired. My daughter asked me, ‘Papa, why did Virat Kohli retire? I want to message him.’ She sent a message to Virat saying, ‘I am Hinaya. Why did you retire?’”
Virat Kohli replied with a smile, saying, “Beta, now it’s time.”
Kohli retired from Test cricket after scoring 9,230 runs in 210 innings with an average of 46.85. His decision came just over a month before India’s five-match Test series against England. Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will not be part of the team. Rohit retired from Test cricket five days before Kohli.
