Yuvraj Singh Created History 17 Years Ago, Hit 6 Consecutive Sixes In An Over

Yuvraj Singh six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad: Indian cricket history has seen many great players so far but there has never been a star like Yuvraj Singh. Yuvraj was a player who could turn the match on his own with both bat and ball. He played an important role in making India the champion of the 2007 T20 World Cup and the ODI World Cup in 2011.

Yuvraj’s career includes many notable things but when it comes to T20 International, then fans remember the six consecutive sixes hit by him in an over. This historic moment has completed 17 years today. Yuvi created history by targeting Stuart Broad against England in the 2007 T20 World Cup.

IND Faced ENG On 19 September In The 21st Match Of The Inaugural Edition Of The T20 WC

In fact, India faced England on 19 September in the 21st match of the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup and captain MS Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first. India lost its third wicket in the 17th over at a score of 155 and then Yuvraj Singh entered the field at number five. English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff started arguing with Yuvi and after this a different side of the left-handed batsman was seen and then he did a historic feat.

Stuart Broad Was Punished

After arguing with Flintoff, Yuvraj Singh targeted young bowler Stuart Broad, who came to bowl the 19th over of the innings. Yuvraj thrashed Broad and hit six consecutive sixes one after the other and became the first batsman to do such a feat in T20 International. He also completed his half-century in just 12 balls in the match, which was also the record of the fastest fifty at that time. Yuvi scored 58 runs in 16 balls, which included three fours and seven sixes.

India Had Registered A Win

Talking about the match, Team India batted first and scored 218/4 in 20 overs. Before Yuvraj, Gautam Gambhir scored 58 runs in 41 balls. Whereas, Virender Sehwag scored 68 runs in 52 balls.
