This IPL season was great for Jitesh
Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings in the final match of IPL 2025 to win the title for the first time in 18 years. At the same time, one of the best performers for RCB this season was Vidarbha’s star wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh Sharma, who will now be seen playing in the first season of the Vidarbha Pro T20 League.
Let us tell you that this season of IPL was great for Jitesh. He scored 261 runs in 15 matches at an average of 37.28 and a strike rate of 176.35. Not only this, he also captained RCB in some matches and played match-winning innings. However, now he will be seen leading the NECO Master Blasters in the T20 League to be played at Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur from June 5 to June 15.
These are the other four teams playing in the league
Apart from Masters Blasters and Rangers, four other teams will also participate in this league. These teams are Nagpur Heroes, Nagpur Titans, Orange Tigers and Pragaria Strikers. The first match of the league will be played between Strikers and Titans at 2:45 pm. The Strikers will be captained by Yash Kadam, while the Titans will be led by Vidarbha’s 2024-25 Ranji Trophy winning captain Akshay Wadkar.
While some big names will be seen playing in this Vidarbha Pro T20 League, some big names will also be missing. Vidarbha’s two biggest names Karun Nair and Harsh Dubey will not be a part of this franchise tournament. They are currently playing for the national team in England.
Karun Nair has been included in the five-match Test series against the ‘Three Lions’, while Harsh Dubey is representing the India A team. Both of them were part of the first unofficial Test between India A and England Lions, in which Nair scored a double century while playing an amazing game. Dubey also took a wicket in the match along with playing an innings of 32 runs. Both these players not playing in the upcoming T20 league will be a bit disappointing for their fans.
