German star :The rumour was first reported by The Athletic, who linked Liverpool’s name with Bayern Munich and Manchester City’s pursuit of the German midfielder. Later, British media outlets including The Sun reported that Liverpool were indeed interested in young German sensation Florian Wirtz.
The fight that was only between Bayern Munich for the past month has turned into a three-way fight in the last week. Bayern Munich was desperate to get the 22-year-old Wirtz. However, Manchester City joined them a few days ago. Wirtz is the long-term favorite of the Citizens instead of club legend Kevin De Bruyne. And Liverpool has recently joined the attacking midfielder’s team.
Although another British media outlet Sky News is reporting that Liverpool is currently completely in the role of a spectator. The 20-time English league champions can join only if there is a deal between Leverkusen and Manchester City. However, the task is not going to be easy. The big reason behind this is City manager Pep Guardiola. Even if he breaks his own club’s record, he wants this German star in the team. And for this, Manchester City will have to spend 126 million euros.
Last week, it was also said that Bayern Munich were the favorites to get Wirtz. A transfer fee of 125 million euros and a salary of 125 million – a total of 250 million – was a huge offer from the Bavarians. Although in the end, it may not see the light of day. In particular, Leverkusen is not interested in selling Wirtz to their league rivals Bayern. Manchester City wants to take that opportunity.

Arne Slott wants to bring the Dutch right-back to Anfield as an alternative to Trent Alexander-Arnold. Understanding the situation, they are interested in taking Florian Wirtz to the team at this opportunity.
Leverkusen, however, prefers Manchester City considering their financial situation and competition in the German league. Bayern, however, is not disappointed at all by Leverkusen. The Bavarians are rightly acquiring homegrown defender Jonathan Tah on a free transfer.
