UCL final: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have reached the UEFA Champions League final for the second time in the club’s history. Neymar Jr. and Kylian Mbappe took the French club to the final for the first time in the 2020 season. However, their dreams were shattered when they lost to Bayern Munich. PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi could not accept that defeat. He was very happy that the team reached the UCL final this time, and made a big announcement for the club’s 600 staff.
Parisian footballers, club staff and managers, as well as fans, are on the verge of reaching their dreams in Europe’s highest club competition. The Champions League title-determining match will be held in Munich, Germany, on May 31. PSG and Italian club Inter Milan will face off in the final at the Allianz Arena. All PSG staff will be able to watch the match for free from Paris.
French media outlet L’Equipe reported that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi sent a message to all members of the club. It read: ‘All our staff will have the advantage of being able to travel to Munich for the final mission with our team. The club management will provide details about the entire arrangement later.’
On the other hand, British media outlet Sky Sports brought forward Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s full comments. There, the PSG billionaire owner said, “This is going to be another memorable night for our club, although we are one step away from Munich. For which we need full focus, determination and unity. The key to our club’s success is the united effort of everyone, whether it is on the field or off the field, from the players to the coach, all the technical staff and staff in every department have a role. We are all one family, representing PSG and France on the big stage.”
Khelaifi confirmed that the club’s entire 600 members would be present at the final. “Every member deserves the opportunity to be present at our final in Munich,” he said. “Thank you very much for your efforts, commitment, professionalism and passion for PSG. The management will soon provide detailed information to ensure everyone’s presence at the (Champions League) final.”
Incidentally, PSG went to Arsenal’s Emirates stadium to play the first leg of the UCL semi-final. From where they returned with a 1-0 win. The Parisians continued that trend in the second leg at Parc des Princes and secured the final. They won 2-1 at home. The club reached the final for the second time in history with a 3-1 aggregate win. Inter Milan was already ready as their opponent in Munich. Earlier, they defeated Barcelona 7-6 on aggregate in a thrilling semi-final.
